Find and Replace is a add-in for all current versions of Microsoft Access to find (and replace) a term in the design time properties of any Access object (tables, queries, forms, reports, macros, modules).
It is an invaluable tool for Access developers to navigate sizeable Access projects, to analyze unfamiliar projects and to quickly rename or change properties and code across the whole project or parts of it.
Once a Microsoft Access application has more than a handful of queries, forms and reports it’s hard to keep track of where which object was used or where you used a certain term. Still, when doing major changes, it is crucial to find all those spots. Whether it is because you want to rename an object, or your client wants a certain term changed in all locations, searching and replacing manually is tedious and error prone work.

You can easily jump from one match location to the next or get all matches listed in a convenient sortable and filterable result list. It can even store the result list in a database table for future reference.
Terminology and reference changes in large databases can take hours and still have a high risk of error. With Find and Replace you can do them conveniently in seconds and without the risk.
Find and Replace is an add-in for all current versions of Microsoft Access. (It works in Access 2007 to Access 2019, including Office/Access-365 click-to-run installations.) You install it only once and can run it in any Access application from a custom tab in the Office Ribbon with just a click. Its multi-language user interface can be easily switched between English and German.
Find and Replace is licensed per user. Each developer working with Find and Replace needs a license. – That’s it!
There is no restriction on the number of computers you can use it on, there is no subscription, no time limit, no strings attached. – We might charge for future major updates, though.
You do not need any special permissions to install Find and Replace. If you can run Microsoft Access, you should have enough permissions to install Find and Replace.
Be sure to have a current backup before doing any large scale replace operation on your database. Better always run a plain search with the criteria before starting a replace operation. – There is no undo-option.

When you are downloading the Find and Replace installer package, Windows Smart Screen might warn you the file might harm your device. Please note, the cause for this warning is that “this app is not commonly downloaded“. There is no real problem with this file. It is also digitally signed to ensure authenticity. Use the “Keep anyway” option to download the file.
The downloadable file is a Windows Installer setup (.msi) file. You double click the file in Windows Explorer to run it with the Windows account you use for your work in Microsoft Access. A: No. Find and Replace is meant as a tool to search in the design properties and VBA source code of your Access application. It will not search and replace any data in your tables.
A: No, the trial version has all the features of the full version. The trial version is only time-limited to 30 days of use and will stop to work after this trial period expired.
A: After installing Find and Replace you should see a new Ribbon tab “AccDevTools” when you next start Access. If this Ribbon tab missing there is something wrong with the add-in installation. Read our blog post on add-in loading errors for the solutions to a number of known scenarios causing this problem.
A: No. The Access Dev Tools are using the COM-Add-In technology which was not available in Access 97. We will not support Access 97
A: No. The Access Dev Tools/Find and Replace is using the Office Ribbon as main UI entry point. The Office Ribbon is only available with Access 2007 and later. If you want to use Find and Replace in previous versions of Access, please let us know. We might consider supporting those versions in the future.

This is one of the best designed tools for MS Access development. I use it frequently. If I could wave my wand and change it, the only change i would make would be to add the ability to feed it Find and Replace values from a table, instead of one at a time. I would use that to Obfuscate my apps.
